August 24, 2011 | in News, Tourism

After 3 successful editions, in 2011, the series of tango concerts and shows will be performed again in the most emblematic scenes of Mendoza Wine Routes.

During two consecutive weekends, on September 16th, 17th and 18th, and 23rd, 24th and 25th, Mendoza will be venue for another edition of an exceptional pairing: wine and tango. With the organization of Secretaries of Tourism and Culture of Mendoza, with the collaboration of Great Wine Capitals and “Bodegas de Argentina”, this successful cycle will be carried out once more, offering the best local music along the cradle of the most sublime wines of the province.

“Tango por los Caminos del Vino” (Tango in the Wine Routes) took place for the first time in 2008, and since that first edition, it has grown until establishing as a classic event. The amalgam of wine and tango was inevitable. After Mendoza managed to enter into the privileged worldwide network of the Wine Capitals, together with Melbourne, Bordeaux, San Francisco, Porto, Cape Town, Bilbao, and Firanze, it turned to be attractive to join in the same event the quality of Mendoza wines with one of the cultural features most associated with Argentina: the tango.

Apart from its artistic quality and the amazing scenes placed in wineries and auditoriums, the event has always included that particularity that enables it to get its consolidation in the Mendoza cultural and tourist calendar.

Like previous editions, besides providing an artistic and cultural product, organizers want to fulfill a charitable purpose. Tickets will be exchanged for milk in powder (2 tickets for each person and for a box of milk) as from 10th September, from 10 am to 6 pm, at the Secretariat of Tourism and host municipalities. The event will be in aid of Mendoza Food Bank.
