‘Valbona Tradición’, the new name for Augusto Pulenta’s range

The winners of VinoSub30

In the 8th edition of the contest VinoSub30 Argentina 2011, 369 wines were tasted and 114 from 54 wineries were awarded.
During three days, the young jury of VinoSub30, which consisted of 24 tasters under the age of 30, was responsible of blind tasting the samples.

Valbona Bonarda Roble 2008

Grape variety: Bonarda 100%
Sight: it offers an intense purplish-red color
Nose: its nose presents a wide variety of aromas, especially of ripe fruits
Mouth: it is a medium-bodied wine, with a delicate mouthfeel

Valbona Pinot Gris 2010

Grape variety: Pinot gris 100%
Sight: this wine has a greyish-white color
Nose: it expresses white flower aromas combined with aromatic herbs
Mouth: on the palate, it is perceived soft and fruity

Augusto P 2007

Grape variety:
Sight: it exhibits an intense deep red color
Nose: it displays a complex nose where aromas of dried fruits and species stand out. Besides, oak grants this wine a sweet aroma
Mouth: this wine is perceived as an unctuous, pleasant, persistent and spicy

About us


Mario Pulenta and his children, third and fourth generation of one of the most important families in the Argentine viticulture, run Bodega Augusto Pulenta. The winery, located in the Tulum Valley, San Juan, embodies a combination of technology and professionalism with a style based on family tradition.

The winery is focused mainly on the production of high-end wines. Although it counts on an important technological investment and high professional standards, the differentiation lies in the work based on a family tradition. Wines are made of grapes coming form their own vineyards growing also in the Tulum Valley. The wine making is performed taking care of the natural processes that highlight the unique features of San Juan's soil and climate. Its wines are intense and fruity, but complex and well-structured, displaying ripe flavors granted by the privileged sunshine of the province.

The winery's main aim is to pursue differentiation and originality in its wines, with a traditional production in a unique and privileged region.
