Great Gold Medal for Casa Montes
The award ceremony of the 23rd Tasting of Wines of San Juan 2011 was held on November 13th in Santa Rita, San Juan. With a score above 94 points, Don Baltazar Cabernet franc 2009 of Casa Montes received a Great Gold Medal among 63 Gold and Silver medal winners and 465 participants throughout the country.

Don Baltazar Petit Verdot 2008

Sight: this full-bodied wine has an intense purple color
Nose: it displays aromas of black cherry, blackberry and raspberry, combined with vanilla and caramel notes granted by its 9-month-French oak aging
Mouth: on the palate, it is sweet and delicate with exuberance provided by floral aromas

Sight: A fresh wine, youthful and fruity, with yellow greenish tinges.
Nose: Very scented, with a delicate combination of tropical fruits and floral notes of jazmine and violets.
Mouth: This is a wine of a long and complex mouth.
Don Baltazar Malbec 2008

Malbec 100%
Sight: It displays a very intense purplish red color granted by its ripeness.
Nose: Complex nose that combines red fruit aromas, such as plum and morello cherry, with pleasant spiced notes. Its aging in French and American oak grants it a touch of vanilla and caramel.
Mouth: Elegant wine with sweet and well balanced tannins as well as a long finish.
