About us

The winemaking tradition of Rutini family was born in the beginning of the 19th Century, when Mr. Francisco Rutini started producing homemade wines in his native town, Ascoli Pisceno, Le Marche, Italy. His only son, Felipe Rutini immigrated to America in order to continue the winemaking tradition. In Coquimbito, Maipú, Mendoza, he planted his first vines. At the end of 1885, he began building La Rural winery under the motto “Labor et perseverantia”. In 1925, Rutini family was a pioneer planting the first vineyard in Tupungato.

Currently, Bodega La Rural exports around 30% of its total production to over 30 countries. The winery is well-known in the foreign market for the quality and character of its products. It has remained true to its idea of constant technological evolution while searching quality and innovation. These aspects, along with 120 years of experience, turn Bodega La Rural into one of the leading wineries in the Argentine market.
